Regulator’s Consultation on DB Scheme Funding
 
The Pensions Regulator has published its long-awaited consultation on a new code of practice for defined benefit scheme funding, along with a separate consultation on its regulatory approach, including Fast Track compliance. This builds on the recent DWP consultation on draft funding and investment regulations. The aim is for the package to come into force on 1 October 2023.

Aon In The Press
In December Aon looked at the 'hopes and fears' for UK pensions in 2023 and announced its new UK partners. Aon also announced that it was the lead adviser to the Barclays Bank UK Retirement Fund (UKRF) on its £7 billion longevity transaction and released its ‘2022 Defined Benefit Pension Design Survey’, which shows the trends developing among UK defined benefit (DB) pension schemes as the number closing to future accrual continues to increase.
