Government announces plans for DC schemes
 
The government has announced a package of measures for defined contribution (DC) pension schemes. This includes regulations that introduce changes to the DC charge cap and new disclose and explain provisions in relation to illiquid assets, a joint consultation on proposals for a common value for money framework, and a call for evidence on small pots.

Proposals to extend CDC 
 
The DWP is consulting on the principles for expanding the existing Collective Defined Contribution (CDC) regulations, covering single-employer schemes, to allow wider forms of CDC schemes to exist. This includes multi-employer / industry-wide schemes and commercial master trusts offering CDC solutions for both the accumulation and/or decumulation of pension benefits.

Introducing Liquid Alternative Diversifier Strategies 
 
Liquid diversifier strategies are expected to feature in broader investment discussions throughout 2023, not least for their potential to provide diversification and downside protection. Aon In The Press
In February, Aon announced it was a lead trustee adviser on RSA’s landmark £6.5bn buy-in with Pension Insurance Corporation – the largest bulk annuity contract ever executed in the UK, Aon’s new DC Today survey finds one in five UK schemes are seeing an increase in members cutting their pension contributions and an Aon poll finds UK pension schemes believe the new Funding Code will affect how they are run.
