In recent months we have seen a surge of interest in pension schemes considering running on beyond the point at which they can afford to insure, both for the long-term or, in some cases, a short tactical period. So, what is the best strategy to adopt to different circumstances and what are the opportunities and pitfalls?
We are delighted to invite you to our inaugural run-on forum for Defined Benefit (DB) schemes looking at optimising an existing run-on strategy, as well as those considering to run-on in the future.
We’ll explore why run-on on strategies are not created equal in terms of security and outcomes, as well as delving into the increasingly popular strategy of short-term run-on and the challenges / opportunities that brings.
We are also delighted to welcome The Pensions Regulator as a keynote speaker, to explain what it expects to see from a regulatory perspective from those implementing (or targeting) run-on strategies in the context of the new funding code.
A high-level summary of the forum’s agenda is set out below – more details will follow shortly.
